White Collar Factory is part of FifthMan’s ‘Minigraphs’ shelf, a series of small books giving context to the design and commissioning of a single building.

In this case, the building is the product of eight years of research and collaboration between architects Allford Hall Monaghan Morris and developers Derwent London. Standing on Old Street’s ‘Silicon Roundabout’, it draws from the robust, flexible and generous quality of nineteenth century factory buildings to create a ‘long life, loose fit, low energy’ space for twenty-first century workers.

The minigraph charts the inspirations and design thinking behind the project, its look and feel referencing the Jean Prouvé influences and industrial aesthetic of the building itself.

The book was designed by Cartlidge Levene and published by FifthMan in September 2017.
