la tour maison

Campaign to promote the refurbishment of a medieval tower house in France.

Strategic planning, communications

Daykin Marshall Studio is a south London-based design practice with a considered, crafted approach to its architecture. The practice’s first major project is located in the Dordogne Valley in France: a medieval tower house, rethought to create an exceptionally beautiful holiday let adjacent to the owner’s home – an eighteenth century forge, also reworked by the architects.

Free: worked with the studio to develop a strategy for the promotion of the project across a range of media, taking into account its unique history (the house stands on the ancient pilgrimage route to Santiago de Compostela) and the respectful yet contemporary approach adopted in its design.

The project was featured in RIBA Journal’s July 2014 issue, and appeared in the New York Times in November 2014.
